Lexus has announced the pricing and specification details for the new LS saloon.
Prices start at £71,995 for the LS 460 Luxury, rising to £99,495 for the LS 600h L Premier hybrid.
The big news, however, is that the range-topping 600h L Premier comes with 'Lexus Climate Concierge', a system which uses infra-red sensors to monitor the facial temperature of each occupant of the car. It then uses this information to adjust the four-zone climate control, seat heaters and heated steering wheel to ensure that each occupant is as comfortable as possible. Impressive stuff.
For an extra £1,515, LS 600h models can also be fitted with a night view system which captures images of the road ahead using an infra-red camera and feeds them to a 12.3-inch touchscreen, warning the driver of any potential hazards.
The LS 600h is powered by a hybrid power-plant which utilises a 5.0-litre V8 engine and produces 439bhp.
The lesser LS460 gets a 382bhp 4.6-litre V8 and is available in two trims: Luxury and F Sport.
Luxury models get 18-inch alloys, LED daytime-running lights, leather seats, four-zone climate control, DVD player. DAB radio, Bluetooth and a 12.3-inch touchscreen sat-nav.
In addition to the features included in the Luxury trim, F Sport models get 19-inch alloys, Brembo brakes, a Torsen limited-slip diff and tweaked suspension. The bumpers and front grille are also given a sportier, more aggressive look.
Order books are now open, and the first LS models will be delivered to customers in January.
