The crash test boffins at Euro NCAP have released their latest batch of results, with both the new Mercedes C-Class and the new Hyundai i10 undergoing the programme's rigorous testing regimen.
And it's good news for the Mercedes, which scores the maximum five-star rating. The new C-Class achieved a 92 per cent adult occupant rating, an 84 per cent child occupant rating, a 77 per cent score for pedestrian safety and 70 per cent for its safety systems.
The Hyundai, meanwhile, scored just four stars which nevertheless remains respectable for a car of its size. Adult occupant protection was rated at 79 per cent and child occupant protection at 80 per cent. The i10 also scored 71 per cent for pedestrian protection and 56 per cent for its safety systems.
