Land Rover has updated its Freelander for the 2013 model year.
So, what's new in the 2013 Land Rover Freelander?
Although from the outside the new Freelander looks almost identical to the model it replaces, it features a host of styling improvements, a brand new interior, and a longer list of standard equipment.
On the outside, the Freelander gets new Xenon LED lights and a revised grille; however, it's on the inside that the changes are most apparent. The Freelander gets a brand new centre console and, for the first time, an electric parking brake. Land Rover has also fitted a five-inch touchscreen.
Land Rover Freelander trim levels
The new Freelander is offered in six levels of trim: S, GS, XS, Dynamic, HSE and the top-of-the-line HSE LUX.
The base S model is fitted with cloth seats while models from the GS upwards get leather as standard. The XS comes with a gloss-black grille surround and a 380W Meridian sound system while the Dynamic gets a full bodystyling kit featuring 19-inch alloys, sport-themed leather seats and a gloss-black grille.
The HSE gets wood interior trim, a panoramic sunroof, a memory function for the driver's seat and an 825W Meridian sound system. The range-topping HSE LUX model adds Windsor leather seats, 19-inch Diamond Turned wheels and premium carpet mats.
What engines are on offer in the new Freelander?
The engine line-up has remained unchanged and includes three 2.2-litre turbodiesels: the 148bhp front-wheel drive eD4, the 148bhp four-wheel drive TD4 and the 187bhp four-wheel drive SD4.
How much will the new Freelander cost?
Land Rover has yet to release the full price list; however, the boggo 'S' model will be priced at £23,700 -- a full £1,000 more than the model it replaces.
When will the new Freelander be released?
The new Freelander will be revealed at the Moscow Motor Show next week and will go on sale here in the UK in October.
