Kia is set to launch the new top-of-the-range KX-4 version of its Sportage.
The KX-4 is both the most powerful and the most luxurious Sportage the Korean manufacturer has produced.
Powered by a 181bhp version of the firm's 2.0-litre CRDi engine, the KX-4 gets from 0-62mph in 9.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 121mph. CO2 emissions are 158g/km and the Sportage returns a combined 46.3mpg.
The KX-4 is available in All-Wheel Drive only and a computer monitors driving conditions to decide where best to send the power. Most of the time, 100% of the engine's torque is sent to the front wheels but, if the computer detects that the car is losing traction, it can choose to send up to 40% of the engine's power to the rear wheels. Drivers can also select 'lock mode' which splits engine torque equally between the front and rear axles for off-road driving.
Standard equipment includes front and rear parking sensors, keyless entry, 18-inch alloys, privacy glass, seven-inch touchscreen sat-nav, xenon lights, automatic lights and wipers, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, panoramic sunroof, heated front and rear seats, reversing camera and iPod connectivity.
The Sportage KX-4 goes on sale today with prices starting from £27,195 OTR.
