Kia has revealed the first official performance details for its first ever range of hot hatches.
The new three-door Kia Pro_cee'd GT and the five-door Cee'd GT will be powered by an updated version of the company's 1.6-litre GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) engine. Kia has strengthened the engine's internal components and fitted a twin-scroll turbocharger, resulting in 201bhp and 195lb-ft of torque.
A six-speed manual gearbox is fitted as standard and 0-62mph will take 7.9 seconds.
Kia has also fine-tuned the cee'd's chassis and suspension to ensure that the car can cope with the extra power.
On the outside, new grilles, light clusters, deeper bumpers and new 18-inch alloy wheels with red brake callipers are all fitted as standard, and all models come with four-point daytime-running lights. Inside, you get Recaro sports seats, alloy pedals and a host of other bespoke features.
Pricing and specification details on the new Kia Pro_cee'd GT and cee'd GT will be confirmed closer to the car's mid-2013 launch.
