Jeep has confirmed the pricing and specification details for the new Cherokee, which goes on sale in the UK this week.
Prices start from £25,495, and for that you get a front-wheel drive 2.0-litre Longitude model with a 138bhp 2.0-litre diesel engine mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. Four wheel drive is also available as an option; however, it adds £2,000 to the price.
There's also a 168bhp diesel engine on offer, which costs from £29,995 and which is available with an automatic gearbox only. A 3.2-litre 'Trailhawk' petrol V6 will be added to the range later this year, boasting improved ground clearance and Jeep's Active Drive Lock system. Jeep claims the car will offer "best-in-class off-road capability."
There are three trim levels on offer: Longitude, Longitude+ and Limited. Longitude models come as standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, Bluetooth, DAB, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and rear parking sensors.
Moving up the range, Longitude+ models start from £27,695 and add am 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with sat-nav and Bluetooth voice recognition.
Top-of-the-range Limited models also get 18-inch alloys, Nappa leather seats, front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, automatic lights and wipers, keyless entry and go, a powered tailgate and wireless phone charging.
