New optional Sport and Speed Packs are now available to enhance both the styling and the performance of Jaguar’s award-winning XJ saloon.
A new Sport Pack will be available across the whole XJ range. The Sport Pack is made up from a range of both exterior and interior design options to personalise the vehicle and make it look even more dynamic and sporty.
In addition to a new design of alloy wheels, the exterior of the car is enhanced with a number of aerodynamic bodywork modifications which allow buyers to boost the speed of the car too, with the optional speed pack. At the front of the car an aerodynamic splitter is added beneath the bumper to direct air beneath the car and reduce lift. The bootlid lip at the rear of the car is also extended in order to ensure a clean separation of air from the trailing edge of the bodywork for buyers of the new Sport Pack.
Purely cosmetic changes for the Sport Pack include a gloss black mesh finish on the radiator grille, lower air opening and side vents. Below the 20 inch 'Venom' alloy wheels with diamond-turned sparkle silver finish and five split-spoke design, red brake callipers give an eye-catching sporty look. Newly designed split twin tailpipes are also to be added to the Sport Pack, but these will not be available from launch.
Inside the cabin the front seats are taken from Jaguar's Performance version. They are trimmed in softgrain leather and have a wide range of adjustments and enlarged side bolsters to help owners find the perfect driving position. Other additions include stainless steel pedals, and carbon-fibre highlights.
If you buy a car with the supercharged AJ-V8 engine then the Sport Pack can be combined with an additional Speed Pack, which increases the electronically limited maximum speed from 155mph up to 174mph. This Speed Pack cannot be purchased without the Sport Pack because the bodywork changes are needed to ensure stability and safety at such high speeds. The only additional changes which are needed for the Speed pack are a recalibration of the engine management system, a reworking of the software for the virtual instrument display, and an adjustment to the tyre pressure monitoring system.
