We love TVRs here at Carsite. We love their muscular, aggressive looks, we love their hastily-cobbled together dashboards, heck, we even love the fact that they're as temperamental and as easy to get along with as Elton John after you've just set fire to his favourite piano.
So it was with heavy heart that we announced last July that the mad Blackpool-based manufacturer had finally called it quits, signalling the death of one of Britain's last remaining car manufacturers.
Now, however, it appears that there could be a glimmer of hope for TVR. If you saunter on over to TVR's official website (tvr.co.uk) you will be greeted with the hopeful, if rather ambiguous, image you see above.
Of course, on its own this image means absolutely nothing. Car manufacturers are always making grandiose statements which invariably lead to absolutely nothing. And given the financial turmoil in which TVR was embroiled prior to its untimely demise, you could be forgiven for thinking that the prospect of a new model rolling off the production lines is about as likely as a copy of 'What Snowmobile?' dropping onto Satan's doormat.
We'll reserve judgement until we uncover more information, after all, stranger things have happened. What we will say, however, is that the idea of a brand-new, Lancashire-built plastic sports car has got us genuinely excited and we'd implore the top brasses at TVR to get off their arses ASAP and actually build the thing.
According to Pistonheads, TVR plans to make an announcement regarding its future "within the next two weeks" and we will, of course, keep you up-to-date with all the latest developments.
