According to the first annual Honest John Awards the i10 Blue from Hyundai is the ‘Most Genuinely Economical Petrol-Engined Car’.

At an awards ceremony this evening the inaugural Honest John Awards named the Hyundai i10 Blue as the most genuinely economical petrol engine car. The i10 Blue has recently been added to the i10 range in order to provide a more efficient and clean option, using Hyundai 'Blue Drive' technologies, including an intelligent stop and go system. With CO2 emissions of 99g/km the i10 Blue is exempt from both Vehicle Excise Duty and the London Congestion Charge, and has fuel consumption of 67.3mpg.

The Honest John Editor, Dan Harrison, commented on the award, saying:

"Nothing gets our users going quite like fuel economy: when consumption in real life fails to live up to the official published figure, they soon let us know about it. So it's good to be able to reward the models which come closest to matching - or improving on the official fuel consumption figure and the Hyundai i10 Blue is one of the best examples of this by genuinely delivering over 60mpg in real-world driving."

If you are interested in buying a new Hyundai i10, then the price starts at £9,195.
