Honda has released images of its new CR-V, which goes on sale in the UK in September.
The new CR-V is 3cm lower and 5cm shorter than the old model, making it look sleeker and more aggressive. On top of this, a new grille and taillights distinguish the new car from its predecessor.
Inside, the interior has a much more luxurious feel than before thanks to higher quality materials, and the entire cabin feels very light and airy.
The CR-V is available with a choice of engines including the 2.2-litre i-DTEC diesel which develops 148bhp and 258lb-ft of torque, a 2.0-litre i-VTEC petrol unit with 148bhp and 142lb-ft of torque, and a new 1.6-litre diesel which arrives next year and promises sub-100g/km CO2 emissions in front-wheel drive form.
The CR-V also gets a new innovative four-wheel drive system which drives all the wheels as standard, switching to front-wheel drive mode only when slip is not detected. This is in contrast to the old model which runs in front-wheel drive normally, switching to four-wheel drive when needed.
There is no word yet from Honda on pricing and further details are expected to be released closer to launch.
