Honda has released details of important changes to its UK-built Civic range.
The manufacturer has revealed a number of improvements to its existing Civic and Civic Tourer models for 2015, as well as the addition of a new Civic Sport model.
The Swindon-built Honda Civic and Civic Tourer have both been treated to a facelift, with new headlamps, daytime running lights, and front bumper. The Civic hatchback will also get a new rear bumper, side skirts, black rear spoiler, and LED rear combination lamps. Both models also receive an interior upgrade, with new seat fabrics and stitching on the headrests, new door trims with chrome door handles and a metallic black finish control panel, as well as the all-new Honda Connect in-car audio and information system. The Honda Connect systems key features include AM/FM, DAB and Internet Radio, Bluetooth connectivity, internet browsing, satellite navigation as an option, and rear-view parking camera. It was a seven inch display screen with smartphone-sytle pinch, swipe and tap functionality.
The Honda Civic range has also been expanded by the arrival of the new Civic Sport. The new model is based on the Civic hatchback, and features a colour-coded rear spoiler, unique 17-inch Civic Sport alloy wheels unique to the Sport derivative, and a new front bumper featuring a lower grille mesh and a black roof lining for the cabin. The Civic Sport model comes with a choice of both petrol and diesel power, and as with every Civic model from 2015 onwards will benefit from the ad of Honda's City- Brake Active (CTBA) system as standard. Specifically designed to help avoid or reduce impact in low speed accidents, the system uses radar technology to scan the road ahead and automatically applies the brakes if an imminent risk of collision is detected.
