Honda has announced the pricing details for the new CR-Z hybrid coupe, which features a range of performance and styling enhancements.
Honda has improved the ECU and variable valve timing system of the car's 1.5-litre petrol engine, boosting power by 7bhp from 112bhp to 119bhp. In addition to this, the Japanese firm has replaced the old car's Nickel-metal battery with a Lithium Ion one, increasing the power from the electric motor from 14bhp to 20bhp.
These improvements result in an overall power output of 135bhp and 140lb-ft of torque. 0-62mph takes 9.1 seconds and the top speed is 124mph.
Honda has also fitted the CR-Z with a Sport Plus (S+) boost system which is activated by pressing a button on the steering wheel. When the button is pressed an electric boost kicks in, providing 10 seconds of increased acceleration.
Despite the increase in power, fuel economy and CO2 emissions remain unchanged at 56.5mpg and 116g/km for the Sport model, and 54.3mpg and 122g/km for the GT.
On the outside, Honda has given the CR-Z a new bumper design, a revised front grille and, on the GT model, 17-inch wheels. Two new colours are also available in the form of Energetic Yellow and Aurora Violet.
Order books for the new CR-Z are now open, with prices starting at £20,550 for the Sport, rising to £23,050 for the GT model.
