Honda has awarded the driver of an Accord a brand new 2012 edition after he reached the one million mile mark in his trusty 1990 model.

American national Joe LoCicero’s incredible journey is a testament to the unrivalled reliability and dependability offered by Honda. He has spent the past 15 years driving an average of 62,500 miles annually, and has been keeping detailed records since the 300,000 mile mark.

These records consist somewhat of him snapping his odometer in over 660 photos, with many Honda fans following his progress on the internet as he approached the mammoth milestone.

He was presented with his new set of keys on 23 October in a surprise parade in Maine. Many came to show their appreciation at the parade which included stilt walkers and marching bands from local schools.
