Skoda has announced the launch of a trio of limited edition models to celebrate this year’s Tour de France cycle race.
The limited edition versions of the Yeti, Octavia, and Superb are aimed at cycling fans, coming as they do with Tour de France branded badges, waterproof seat covers, and bike wheel bags. The models also boast a centenary edition copy of the Rouleur Tour de France book, as well as the chance to win a VIP experience to the race itself.
The pricing structure for the Tour de France limited editions have been confirmed, starting at £23,490 for the Yeti model which is based on the Outdoor SE 2.0-litre 4x4. The Superb Tour de France is based on the Estate Outdoor 2.0-litre TDi and costs £28,490, while in between those two models is the Octavia Tour de France, based on the Estate SE 2.0-litre TDi 4x4 and carrying a price tag of £24,290.
The Tour de France limited editions will come in red, white, or blue, in homage to the French tricolore, and only 198 examples of each model will be produced, corresponding with the number of cyclists entered into this year’s race.
The cycling-inspired Tour de France models are also a nod to Skoda’s past, with the Czech brand starting out as a bicycle manufacturer almost 120-years ago.
