Ford has lowered the CO2 emissions of both their brand new Fiesta and Fiesta Van to a staggering 87g/km.

Some key innovative developments have made Britain's best-selling car and small van more environmentally friendly than ever. The advanced fuel economy of both vehicles means they are exempt from UK road tax.

The new Fiesta Edge, Zetec and Titanium ECOnetic models are available from £14,445 and the Fiesta Van ECOnetic can be purchased for £12,215. The five engines in the Fiesta car line-up all emit less than 130g/km of CO2, making them free from road tax for their first year.

Reduction of emissions

The latest Fiesta and Fiesta Van have reduced emissions of CO2 from 96 to 87g/km and their combined fuel economy has risen to 85.6mpg. The cars also include Auto-Start-Stop, revised gear ratios, smart regenerative charging, EcoMode and upgrades to the 94bhp 1.6TDCi engine. Low rolling resistance tyres, an aero pack, variable oil pump and a shift indicator light are original pieces of equipment that are fitted as standard to both the Fiesta and Fiesta Van ECOnetic.

Three trim levels are available with the Ford Fiesta with ECOnetic Technology. Edge, Zetec or Titanium are on offer to suit different customer preferences. Ford will be hopeful that the steps they have taken to make both vehicles more environmentally efficient will cement their credentials as a 'green' company.
