The three-door Ford Fiesta has been awarded the title of 'Small Hatchback of the Year' (hatchbacks which cost under £13,000) by Parkers motoring magazine.

The competition judged vehicles using a number of factors including costs for showroom and road tax, servicing, fuel consumption running costs, including depreciation.

Commenting on the win, Parkers editor Kieren Puffett said, "The Fiesta 1.25 Studio three-door has proved to be an excellent value-for-money small hatchback that is still holding its own in a very competitive segment. It came out top in the under-£13,000 price bracket in the Parkers Cost of Motoring New Car Awards small hatchback category because it has affordable running costs to go with its fantastic handling abilities and competitive list price."

The entry-level Studio has a starting price of £9,795 and produces 87g/km CO2, falling under the 100g/km threshold and benefitting from road tax and London congestion charge exemption.

The Style and Edge versions of the Fiesta are priced from £10,445 and £11,145 respectively.

Commenting on the model, Ford adds, "With its dynamic shape and sophisticated interior, the Ford Fiesta has already won numerous design awards. With the wealth of innovative technology, the car has the substance to match its trademark style."
