The Ford C-Max range has won the compact multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) category in this year’s BusinessCar awards.

With UK sales doubling in just a year the Ford C-Max is going from strength to strength, and can now add a win in the BusinessCar awards to its list of achievements, where it won the title of best compact multi-purpose vehicle (MPV). Ford also took home the overall 'Best MPV' title for the S-Max, which has won the award every year since its launch in 2006, a total of 6 titles.

The Ford C-Max, which won its first BusinessCar title this year, sold 19,000 units in the UK in 2011, a big jump from the 8,357 sold in 2010. This means that almost one in five of all the compact MPVs sold in the UK last year was a C-Max.

The Editor of BusinessCar Paul Barker commented on the double win saying:

"Ford has deservedly taken both MPV awards thanks to a pair of products that successfully combine practicality and efficiency with a sense of style not previously available in a sector aimed squarely at family transport.

"Both the Ford C-MAX and S-MAX offer good running costs as well as great handling and are deserved winners of this award, decided by the readers of BusinessCar - the very people using these products for their business and their company drivers."

The Ford C-Max is priced from £17,445, and later this year it will also be available with the new, more efficient, 1.0-litre 123bhp EcoBoost petrol engine.
