The first photographs of the CR-Z MUGEN, the high-performance hybrid coupe, have been released by Honda and MUGEN Euro.
So far, the development of the exciting new model is all going to schedule, with some early performance tests conducted in a prototype car boasting promising results.
Early tests with a mid-tune engine model have produced roughly the same 0-60mph times as that of the Civic Type R.
MUGEN’s initial performance targets look set to be met with over 50kg reduced from the chassis and a 15% increase in power over this stage 1 engine.
Colin Whittamore of MUGEN Euro had this to say: "Early fuel consumption tests have also been encouraging. We've retained the three driving modes from the standard car and economy ranges from 50+mpg in 'eco' mode to mid-30 mpg when tapping into the supercharged power in a special 'MUGEN' mode."
