Peugeot appear to be feeling more international than ever with the introduction of the brand new Urban Crossover.
Peugeot has explained that this new model has been created by various Peugeot workers around the world. Its teams from Style Peugeot in Paris, Shanghai and Sao Paulo have worked together on a version that aims to represent a new hallmark for the car brand.
According to the manufacturer, the crossover is a vehicle that "mixes the elegance and refinement of a saloon, the cheekiness and the mischievousness of a 4x4 with multi-role capability and unusual spaciousness for this market segment."
Based on these arguments, Peugeot designed a 4.14m length and 1.74m wide compact vehicle that aims to be both 'modern and dynamic'.
The manufacturer also stated that "the Urban Crossover Concept is the combination of Peugeot's know-how in creating a small vehicle combining agility, compactness, multi-role ability and confident styling for young city dwellers that like the city, live the city, create the city, while still loving to escape from it."
The manufacturer is hoping that the car's "athletic and classy lines" would become a new standard of big vehicles within the small cars segment.
Big and small
Peugeot recently announced that its new 208 model would hit British showrooms at the end of June. As in the case of the Urban Crossover, Peugeot described the 208 by focussing on its size - "Smaller on the outside, bigger on the inside", stated Peugeot.
The car will be on sale for a starting price of £9,995 for consumers who wish to opt for the 3 door VTi 69bhp Access model.
In addition, Peugeot stated that the new 1.0 litre 3-cylinder petrol engine emits just 99g/km of CO2, whereas the e-HDi diesel engine emits 87g/km of CO2.
