Chevrolet’s Aveo supermini has been awarded best in class for safety by Euro NCAP.

The Aveo was tested by the independent European consumer organisation, and bested its rivals with an overall 85% score. This included a score of 95% in the adult occupant protection category, and 87% in the child occupant protection section.

The Aveo joins its stablemates the Cruze, Captiva, Orlando, and all electric Volt in claiming a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating.

The Chevrolet Aveo boasts six airbags as standard, along with a child-seat latching system, electronic stability control, traction control, ABS with brake assist, and electronic brake force distribution. Other standard features of the model include hill-start assist, and cruise control with speed limiter.
