The foor-door version of the Bugatti Veyron, the Galibier, is back on the cards.
Bugatti and Bentley boss Wolfgang Dürheimer has apparently given his backing to the project and promised that the Galibier will offer even more power than the Veyron – over 1,000 bhp.
When put into production, the new car should cost in the region of $1.4 million (or £890,000) and will use the same engine as the Veyron, albeit tuned differently.
Unlike the Veyron, which never turned a profit and cost a great deal more to make than the £800,000 it was sold for in the UK, the Galibier could justify itself financially, Dürheimer has claimed. Production could start as soon as the end of next year, however, the factory in Molsheim, France where the car will be produced will need to be refitted to produce the car and this could hold up the development into 2014.
