Stolen vehicle recovery experts Tracker have released details of the top ten cars stolen and recovered in 2013. And, if you're a BMW X5 driver, you might just want to check your car is where you left it.
Yup, it seems that BMW's range-topping off-roader is at the top of car thieves' shopping lists, holding the dubious title of Britain's most stolen car, an accolade it retains for the fifth year on the trot.
In fact, it's bad news for BMW in general as five of its cars make it into the top ten. Mercedes and Range Rover and Audi are all represented twice in the list, while Porsche makes just one appearance.
Last year, Tracker recovered nearly £8,500,000 worth of stolen vehicles and returned them to their owners.
"It's clear from our latest figures that thieves continue to target prestige models with the most expensive car recovered being worth £90,000," said Adrian Davenport, Tracker's police liaison officer.
"The average value of the cars we recovered in 2013 was just £23,600, down on the average for the year before. This proves that you don't have to be a luxury car owner to be at risk from thieves looking to make a quick profit."
