Five motorists have been caught doing more than twice the national speed limit over the last twelve months.

The fastest of these was stopped after doing 152mph along the A27 in Binstead on a Yamaha motorbike.

Two motorists were also caught doing over 140mph on the A90 in Scotland, despite the presence of average speed cameras on the road.

The fastest motorway driver was stopped after hitting 142mph on the M4.

The president of the AA, Edmund King, said: "This data shows that there are still some crazy, reckless drivers on some of our roads. Driving at these speeds should be reserved for the racetrack rather than the public highway."
