BMW’s Sports Activity Coupe, the X6, is being updated for 2012 and the range extended with the introduction of a new M Performance model.
From June this year the BMW X6 Sports Activity Coupe will see a range of design updates, and the introduction of a new M Performance model, the X6 M50d.
The new BMW X6 will feature an array of exterior styling changes to update and enhance its design. The front end has been revised, and will now feature a wider chrome frame and new bars on the large kidney shaped grille, as well as new foglights, set out towards the side of the car. Adaptive LED headlights are also being offered in place of the standard bi-xenon lights. At the back end of the car the light clusters has been refreshed, with the addition of a pair of horizontal LED Glowing Bars.
To finish off the new styling of the X6 three new metallic paint colours have been added to the range - Orion Sliver, Midnight Blue and Marrakesh Brown. For the inside of the car there are also two new upholstery trims - Ivory White Exclusive Nappa Leather and Vermilion Red Nevada Leather.
The BMW X6 M and the BMW X5 M are getting additional updates such as blue coloured Aluminium brake callipers and Adaptive LED Headlights fitted as standard. The new BMW X6 also features a Powerdome bonnet.
The new BMW X6 is priced from £46,725 for an X6 xDrive30d and goes up to £85,680 OTR for the X6 M. Both versions go on sale in the UK from 16th June 2012.
The performance model BMW X6 M50d, as well as a BMW X5 M50d, are powered by a new 3.0-litre TwinPower Turbo diesel engine, with 381bhp. The X6 can accelerate from 0-62mph in 5.3 seconds and includes EfficientDynamics technology to keep fuel consumption reasonable at 36.7mpg with CO2 emissions of 204g/km.
