For the second year running the Fleet World Honours have named BMW Group as the ‘Fleet Manufacturer of the Year’.

At the 2011 Fleet World Honours ceremony BMW picked up the 'Best Executive Car' award for the 5 Series, as well as walking away with the title of Fleet Manufacturer of the Year 2011. Both of these awards were also given to BMW last year.

The BMW 5 series has been hugely successful with fleet customers since it was launched in 2010. This is down to the fact that it manages to combine good performance and strong styling, which make the car highly desirable to own, with excellent efficiency and value for money.

Commenting on the success of the 5 Series Fleet World Editor Steve Moody said:

"Is the 5 Series the most complete car in the world? Powerful yet efficient engines, elegant looks, an interior that would challenge most luxury cars in terms of comfort and quality, underpinned by a chassis that offers agility and refinement. To top it off, the 5 Series comes at a price its competitors struggle to match, while residuals are sky high too."

Meanwhile Stephen Chater, who is the Corporate Operations Manager at BMW Group UK, acknowledged the importance of the firm's achievements at the awards this year, saying that:

"To win these awards means a lot to BMW and MINI. Not only do they recognise the developments in the product range but also the service and customer focus of the BMW Group corporate sales team, both of which have shown real benefits for fleet decision makers and company car drivers alike."
