BMW has announced a new entry-level version of the X3.
The new sDrive18d is the first X3 to feature rear-wheel drive rather than all-wheel drive.
Under the bonnet, the new X3 gets a turbocharged 2.0-litre diesel engine which develops 141bhp and 266lb-ft of torque. This means 0-62mph takes just 9.9 seconds and flat out the X3 will do 121mph.
In addition, the sDrive18d returns 55mpg and emits just 135g of CO2 every kilometre, making it an economical choice for business users.
The BMW achieves these economy figures through standard-fit start/stop technology and brake energy recuperation. A six-speed manual gearbox is offered as standard and an eight-speed auto 'box can be selected as an option.
The X3 sDrive18d goes on sale in October, with prices starting from £28,580.
