Here at BuyYourCar, we're not in the habit of simply copying and pasting press releases in an attempt to bulk out our news output and make our lives easier.
But today we received a press release from Bentley which made our jobs nigh-on impossible. Here it is, in its entirety:
"Redefining the standards of the luxury performance sedan, the new Bentley Flying Spur is coming. Further details will be released on 20th February 2013."
That's it. That's all we were given. As you can appreciate, this puts us in a rather invidious position, especially considering Bentley has decided that, instead of a releasing a photo of the car, a feeble (and incomplete) pencil drawing would suffice.
So there you go. We have almost nothing to say about the new Flying Spur, other than what we can glean from the press release (i.e. that it'll be a saloon and that it'll be luxurious).
It will probably be offered with a choice of the sensational 4.0-litre V8 from the Conti GT or the mammoth 6.0-litre W12 from the old Flying Spur.
It will also -- and this is pure speculation -- be lighter, faster and more efficient than its predecessor. It also seems likely that the Flying Spur will be the first Bentley to be offered with the option of a diesel engine. Possibly.
And, being a Bentley, it will almost certainly be sumptuously appointed, extremely fast and highly desirable.
Then again, it could be absolute rubbish. We just don't know.
