Audi is today celebrating three category wins in the 2012 What Car? awards.

At the What Car? Awards ceremony held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane, London last night, Audi cars won the top title in three different categories. The What Car? Awards are judged by a panel made up of journalists from What Car? magazine.

Last year's Car of the Year, the Audi A1, retained its title of 'Supermini of the Year' for 2012. The A1 is available in the UK priced from £13,420 for a 1.2-litre TFSI SE model, going up to £21,810 for the top of the range 1.4-litre TFSI Black Edition model.

Meanwhile the Audi TT Coupe won the top title in the Coupe category for an impressive sixth year in a row. The Audi TT Coupe is priced from £24,070 for the 1.8-litre TFSI SE, rising to £33,390 for the 2.0 TFSI quattro Black Edition. Judges described the 2.0-litre TFSI engine as offering "amazing performance as well as flexibility."

Finishing off the Audi hat trick was the TT roadster, which took home the What Car? award in the 'Convertible of the Year' category. Prices for the TT Roadster start at £25,320 OTR for the 1.8-litre standard model, rising to £35,370 for the 2.0-litre TFSI quatrro Black Edition.

The Director of Audi UK, Martin Sander, accepted the awards on behalf of the firm, and afterwards commented:

"I'm delighted to find that accepting three awards from What Car? is one of my first duties as Director. The A1 has had an incredible launch year and is now confirming its status as the star in its segment. The TT's unprecedented sixth award and its Roadster sister's first award from What Car? are testament to their timeless appeal."
