Audi has launched a new entry-level version of the Q3 fitted with a 2.0-litre diesel engine.
The 2.0-litre TDI unit in the new Q3 develops 138bhp and 236lb-ft of torque, which translates into a 0-62mph time of 9.9 seconds and a top speed of 122mph. It's relatively economical for such a large car too, nudging 50mpg on the combined cycle and emitting 149g/km of CO2.
The Q3 also comes with Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive system.
Two specification levels are available: SE and S Line. The SE gets 17-inch alloys, rear parking sensors, a 6.5-inch colour display, Bluetooth, iPod and SD car connectivity, dual-zone climate control and automatic headlights and wipers. The S Line model comes with 18-inch alloys, a few S Line styling tweaks and xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights. The S Line trim costs an extra £2,750 and, to be honest, it's not worth it -- the bigger alloys will spoil the ride.
There's plenty of space inside the Q3, with 1,365-litres of room available with the split/fold rear seats down.
Prices for the Q3 2.0 TDI start from £26,510, rising to £29,260 for the S Line version.
