Ariel has updated its Atom with a host of design tweaks and chassis improvements.

The new Ariel Atom 3.5 now gets a chassis based on the one from the Atom V8, along with new engine mounts and dampers. Ariel claims that the changes give better traction and balance, as well as a more forgiving ride on the road.

The engine choice remains unchanged, with both naturally-aspirated and supercharged versions of Honda's 2.0-litre i-VTEC engine on offer. The former remains unchanged, developing 245bhp; however, Ariel has managed to coax another 10bhp from the supercharged version, bringing the total up to 310bhp.

Ariel has also improved the Atom's exterior, though you'd be forgiven for not spotting the differences. The new Atom 3.5 gets triple-lens front light clusters with LED indicators and LED rear lights. On the inside, you get an LCD dashboard display with gear-shift lights and an optional data-logger, which shows lap times and G force.
