Audi will use the Mondial de l’Automobile in Paris to reveal the latest version of their popular open top TT.
Audi say they have taken the much loved theme of the iconic roadster and given it a contemporary feel with a raft of new features to appeal to a modern market. TT Roadster models will be available from early next year and will cost between £31,955 and £37,555 OTR; first deliveries will take place in March 2015.
The exterior will retain its fabric hood as has been standard for the range but changes will come in the form of an advanced construction of steel and aluminium. Audi are proud to say that its aero dynamic efficiency will be the best in class at a drag coefficient of 0.30.
All models will include the Audi Virtual Cockpit which provides two views; the classic view will show speedometer and rev counter while the ‘infotainment’ view puts them to one side and focuses more on modern features such as navigation.
“The concept of designing a compact roadster following clear geometrical rules formed the original idea for the Audi TT in autumn 1994,” says Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Board Member for Technical Development at AUDI AG: “From the first generation on, it has been a sports car for the senses – a driving machine with an authentic design. With the new TT Roadster, we have developed this concept in a consistent manner and further improved the technical experience in the car with innovations such as the Audi virtual cockpit.”
