In a publicity stunt for the launch of its new MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde, Alfa Romeo has broken a world record.

To promote the new car, Alfa constructed a giant version of its famous badge out of 2500 coloured water balloons. A stunt driver – Terry Grant, then proceeded to drive the new Alfa through the giant badge, setting a world record for the greatest number of water balloons burst by a car.

The number of balloons burst stood at 2,738 and is the twentieth world record broken by stunt driver Grant.

Alfa claims that the new Verde is the sportiest model to join the MiTo range yet and prices start from £18,775.
