A new limited edition version of the Abarth 500 has been launched to celebrate the 65th birthday of the performance car company.
Carlo Abarth formed the Italian marque in 1949, and in recognition of this there will be just 65 examples of the new Abarth 500 Custom made.
Priced at £14,990, the Abarth 500 Custom adds grey metallic paint, rear privacy glass, yellow brake callipers, and 17-inch 10-spoke diamond-finish alloys, to a list of equipment which already includes Abarth’s new 7-inch TFT instrument panel, sports, seats, satin steel twin exhaust, and Bluetooth hands-free communication system with steering wheel controls. The purchase price also includes a special Abarth Track Experience, with available locations including Oulton Park, Donington Park, and Brands Hatch.
The 500 Custom is on sale through Abarth’s 29-strong UK dealer network.
"Now is the time for anyone who has been thinking of owning an Abarth 500 to buy one," said Gerry Southerington of Abarth UK. "As well as the extra equipment and superb value for money, customers can enjoy a track day experience they certainly won't forget, and the top race circuits on offer will allow these new owners to fully appreciate the dynamic abilities of Abarth cars in their natural environment."
The Abarth 500 Custom can do 0-62mph in just 7.9 seconds thanks to its 135bhp 1.4-litre turbo engine, which also gives the hot hatch a top speed of 127mph.
