After launching the rear-wheel-drive Carrera GTS last December, Porsche has now unveiled the new Carrera 4 GTS with four-wheel-drive.
The Carrera 4 GTS is available in both coupe and cabriolet versions and is fitted with a 3.8-litre flat six developing 408bhp. You have a choice of a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed double-clutch PDK transmission. With the manual 'box, 0-62mph takes 4.6 seconds in the coupe and 4.8 seconds in the cabrio; fitting the PDK gearbox shaves 0.2 seconds off both of these times.
This extra speed has been achieved through a redesign of the engine's intake duct which has given the Carrera 4 GTS an extra 23bhp. A new sports exhaust system also should also help performance, as well as producing what Porsche call "an unmistakable acoustic signature".
Aesthetic improvements include 19" black gloss alloys, a black painted spoiler lip, new side skirts and a reflective stripe between the rear lights. On the inside, alcantra trim on the seats, steering wheel, gear lever, handbrake and door handles also helps to complete the sporty look of the Carrera 4 GTS. All cars also come fitted as standard with Porsche Vehicle Tracking system (VTS).
The cars go on sale here in July with prices starting from £83,145 for the coupe and £90,024 for the cabriolet.
