MINI has announced the details of the new MINI Goodwood, a luxury edition of the small car with design input from Rolls-Royce.

The car is certainly sumptuously appointed, with lambswool carpets, cashmere roof lining and lashings of wood on the dashboard. The car is also painted in an official Rolls-Royce colour – Diamond Black.

MINI has chosen, perhaps wisely, not to shoehorn the 6.75-litre V12 from the Phantom into the MINI’s diminutive engine bay, instead opting for the 1.6-litre four-pot from the Cooper S, developing 184bhp.

The MINI comes with plenty of standard kit including Xenon headlights, parking sensors, automatic air-con, sat-nav and a bespoke audio system with Harman Kardon speakers.

Only 1000 MINI Goodwoods will be delivered and orders are being taken now. So if you’re after the ultimate luxury MINI – or indeed a Rolls-Royce on a budget – then the MINI Goodwood may be the car for you.
