Mercedes has unveiled the pricing and specification details for the new 2014 C-Class saloon, which will cost from £26,855 when it goes on sale in the UK in June.
Two engines will be available from launch: the C200 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol and the C220 BlueTec 2.1-litre four-cylinder diesel, each of which will be offered with a choice of six-speed manual and seven-speed automatic gearboxes.
Three further variants -- the C200 BlueTEC, the C250 BlueTEC and the C300 BlueTEC Hybrid -- will be launched later this year.
Three trim levels will be on offer: SE, Sport and AMG Line. SE models start from £26,855 for the petrol and £29,310 for the diesel, both with manual gearboxes, and includes 16-inch alloy wheels, Artico upholstery, dual-zone air-conditioning and a seven-inch colour display with touchpad control.
Also available as standard across the C-Class range is a reversing camera, rain-sensing wipers, attention assist, speedtronic cruise control, heated windscreen wiper washers, a tyre pressure monitoring system and Collision Prevention Assist.
Moving up the range, Sport models start from £28,850 or £31,360 for petrol and diesel models, respectively. For this, you get 17-inch alloys, LED headlights, lowered comfort suspension, chrome exterior trim and a Garmin sat-nav.
The top-of-the-range AMG Line model starts from £30,290 (£32,800 for the diesel) and adds 18-inch AMG alloys, AMG bodystyling and steering wheel, sports suspension and an Artico finish to the dashboard.
Mercedes is also offering a range of equipment packs, which can be specified at an extra cost. The Executive Pack is available on the SE model, costs £995 and adds a Garmin sat-nav, heated front seats and split-folding rear seats. Sport and AMG Line models can be specced with the Driving Assistance Package (£1,495) which adds Distronic Plus, Blind Spot Assist, Pre-safe and Lane-Keeping Assist.
A Premium Pack can also be added to Sport and AMG Line models for £1,595, adding an electrically-operated panoramic glass sunroof, a memory package for the electric front seats, an ambient lighting system, keyless go, hands-free access to the boot and powered boot closing.
Additional options include the Airmatic Agility Package (£895), which adds self-levelling air suspension, a head-up display (£825), a 360-degree camera (£335) and the Air Balance Package (£350).
