Volvo XC90 Overview

The first generation model comes with a choice of 5 engines, ranging from 2.5 litre turbocharged straight-5 engine to a 4.4 litre V8 engine, there is also a 2.4 diesel option.

The Volvo XC90 is a comfortable seven-seater which drives nicely and whilst it is highly priced still offers better value than most of its rivals.

The Volvo XC90 is a large 4X4 that was put into production in 2003. Over the years bits and pieces have been introduced such as the V8 engine, and 2007 saw the XC90 produced with a redesigned front and rear as well as a revised interior. However, other than that nothing much has changed.

Safety wise, as you might expect the XC90 is very much on point. It is almost as if every part of the car was built with the event of a crash in mind. The XC90 is one of a long list of Volvos to have achieved a Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

The Volvo XC90 has received praise from all quarters or the motor industry and it’s easy to see why, it is a strong, practical, good looking, desirable car that will always have it occupants feeling safe. It is however very hard in this industry to last the test of time without much change so maybe a new and improved, second generation model could come sooner rather than later.
