Toyota Prius Overview

The modern use of technology in the Toyota Prius is paving the way for future innovations. The Prius is a great car very capable of performing day-to-day tasks as well as other cars in its sector. For buyers who can afford it the Prius is a solid investment.

The Toyota Prius was first introduced in 1997 but was not made available in Europe until 2000. It was originally a 4 door saloon, but this changed with the second generation Prius, which adopted a hatchback bodystyle.

The second generation Toyota Prius was designed with families in mind. With CO2 emissions of only 104g/km and a combined fuel economy of 65.7mpg it was a very good clean Green car. The third generation of Prius has improved on this already impressive feat, and now boasts an economy of 71.0 mpg to 72.0 mpg.

The third generation Prius also received a facelift in 2011, this included only minor cosmetic changes and a few equipment changes such as updated headlamps and a USB port for an iPod.

The Toyota Prius is aimed at the environmentally conscious and is truly a brilliant piece of new technology.
