Subaru Impreza Overview

The current model of the Subaru Impreza is available as a hatchback with a 2.0 or 1.5 litre engine and a fuel economy which ranges from 24.8 mpg to 44.1 mpg.

The Impreza has become very well known for its success in the World Rally Championships, despite being withdrawn from the WRC in 2008 due to economic problems. Lesser performing Impreza’s should not be overlooked. They share almost identical styling features as their rally-replica counterparts. They share the same build quality and deliver the same ride, only at a slower pace.

The Impreza was born in 1993 and was produced in both front wheel drive and all wheel drive forms. The Impreza was initially available as a saloon or an estate.

The first generation model received an exterior facelift in 1997 as well as an interior redesign before it was replaced by the second generation model.

The second generation model began production in 2000 and was introduced to the market in 2001. In 2004 a new range of the second generation model was produced which saw the arrival of the WRX and the WRX STi models.

The third generation model met the production lines in 2007 and received a facelift in 2010, acquiring a new grille insert. There is also a high suspension variant called the Subaru XV which is expected in 2012.

The Subaru Impreza is a popular model that has been in production since 1993. It has updated in four different generations as well as receiving a number of facelifts. It is known for its performance, its generous kit and ability to grip the road.
