Background
The Seat Alhambra is a large, 7-seat, Multi Purpose Vehicle which has proved to be very popular since it was first put into production in 1996.
The first generation model of the Alhambra ran from 1996 to 2010 and throughout that fourteen year period it didn’t change a great deal. There was however a pretty major restyling in 2000 which served to give the Alhambra a more modern image.
The second generation Alhambra arrived in 2010 boasting sliding doors and a larger body than its previous model. The second generation model has won a bunch of awards including the WhatCar? ‘Best MPV on the market’ award in 2011.
A 4WD version of the Alhambra was also put into production in 2010 which is available with a 2.0 TDI diesel engine and a manual six-speed gearbox.
Summary
The Seat Alhambra has been very well received and with good reason. It is a very practical and versatile vehicle which isn’t lying when it claims to be a Multi Purpose Vehicle. It is great to drive (for a people carrier) and offers a decent level of standard equipment.
