Mini Paceman Overview
It kind of looks like what would happen 9 months later, if the Range Rover Evoque and the Mini Countryman, had a naughty weekend together in Prague. The likeness to the Evoque is mainly a result of the longer, sloped roof the Paceman features, which has been introduced to give the Paceman more rear space than other Mini Models whilst maintaining a sporty appearance.
When it comes to driving the Paceman, there are some differences to the Countryman, the steering feels more accurate giving the Paceman more agility but the lowered suspension means the ride is firmer than the Countryman.
Background
The Paceman was originally a concept car which appeared at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show. A year later, it was announced that the Paceman would be going into production for 2013.
Summary
The Paceman is a compromise between the sportier Minis in the range and the more practical Countryman. It succeeds to an extent but it is more expensive, and as far as we can tell, the only thing you get for the extra money, is the sportier looks.
