Mazda CX-7 Overview
The Mazda CX-7 offers plenty room allowing five adults to be accommodated with ease. At first glance the 455-litres of space available in the boot isn’t as big as some rivals – but the car makes good use of what is available. To increase capacity, the rear seat backs can be easily tipped forward to leave a long, flat load space.
Moreover, the CX-7 is fairly quick for a 4x4 – it can accelerate from 0 -60mph in less than 8 seconds. The car is also fairly economical in terms of fuel consumption.
Background
The Mazda CX-7 was first produced in 2007. The car uses a 2.3 litre turbocharged petrol engine, giving it quick acceleration and allowing it to top out at 124mph.
The model received an update in 2010. The exterior design features revised front and rear fascias with the front adopting the larger five-point grille design similar in appearance to the recently redesigned RX-8 and MX-5.
There are now four trims available and the 2.3 litre turbo diesel engine sports a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Summary
The Mazda CX-7 is an excellent family car that combines style and practicality well. Not only does it look great, it is also a competent performer.
