Lotus Elise S 2dr - February 2012
The Lotus Elise has been a name that has been synonymous with sports cars for many years, and this is one of the purest and simply joyful driving experiences that you can have when it comes to such...

Lotus Elise Overview

The Elise is quality built and handles extremely well. Seats are low to the floor and the focus is on providing the ultimate driving experience. The latest model also provides some luxuries, providing a superior trim, carpet and a state-of-the-art audio system.

The Lotus Elise is not big on space. Passengers have ample room to ride but no more than that. The car was designed for performance and handling rather than practicality. The vehicle is an expensive purchase, and running and insurance costs will not be cheap either.

The Lotus Elise was first produced in 1996. It had a relatively low weight which gave it quick acceleration and also improved the car’s braking, cornering and fuel consumption. The car was fitted with a 1.8 litre engine with a 5-speed manual transmission.

The Series 2 model was introduced in 2002 and is still produced today. It was made available with a 6-speed transmission and was equipped with an improved exterior.

In 2008 there were several additions to the Lotus line-up and there are currently three versions of the Elise available, the Elise S, Elise R and Elise SC, the latter with a supercharged engine.

There have been many special editions of the car, including the 50th anniversary edition to mark the anniversary of the company.

The Lotus Elise is an incredibly fast and stylish sports car that provides excellent handling and makes for a superb driving experience.
