The Rapide offers a different experience to any other Aston currently on the market. With four doors, and enough space to genuinely seat four passengers, although the rear passenger may not be too comfortable if they are on the large side, it is a deviation from the solely sport and GT models previously produced. That’s not to say that the Rapide doesn’t have a level of performance to push its predecessors.

Aston Martin Rapide Overview
The Rapide is a civilised cruiser but when you put your foot down you really get a feel of the 6.0 litre V12 that’s under the bonnet. It can accelerate from 0-62 in 5.3 seconds, reaching a top speed over 180mph, not bad for a 4 door saloon.
The beautifully designed interior greets you as soon as you open the door. Quality materials are used everywhere, with supple leather in abundance. The only downside is some of the cheaper Ford column stalks and switches of previous Astons still remain. Although this has four doors and four seats, the small rear doors make getting in and out difficult, and the sloping coupe-like roof makes rear space a little cramped.
Background
Introduced in 2010, the Rapide is a performance saloon, replacing Aston Martin’s previous 4 door model, the Lagonda, which finished production in 1989. The concept car from which it derived first made an appearance at the North American International Auto Show in 2006.
Summary
Arguably Aston Martins most practical car ever, the Rapide legitimately offers four seats, although a bit cramped, which can be folded down to increase carrying capacity for the boot. They have increased practicality but not compromised on performance.
