Vauxhall have announced a new deal on its ADAM range which it hopes will give young drivers a helping hand with the costs of motoring.

The ADAM deal follows a similar scheme offered by Vauxhall on the Corsa model last year, an offer which was taken up by 1,500 customers. Under the scheme, drivers aged 18-20 can get a year of insurance for a one-off fee of just £99, representing a huge saving on the usual cost of insurance for young drivers.

Eligible on new ADAM registrations taken out on a 2.9% PCP contract or contract hire agreement before 6 April, drivers in the 18-20 age bracket will be able to take advantage of the £99 insurance offer on condition they allow an Ingenie ‘black box’ driving monitor to be installed on their car. The system monitors speed, acceleration, braking, and cornering, reporting driving performance via a smartphone app and rewarding good drivers with a reward of up to £33 per quarter. Over 70 per cent of drivers who had an Ingenie fitted under the previous Corsa offer received a money back discount for safe driving. “With young drivers potentially paying upwards of £2,000 for insurance when they are 18, this offer for ADAM drivers is an amazing deal and shows our commitment to lowering the cost of motoring,” said John Hennelly, Vauxhall’s Marketing Programmes Manager.

In addition to the young driver offer, drivers aged 21-75 who take out a 2.9% PCP contract or contract hire agreement on a new ADAM before 6 April can get a year’s insurance absolutely free.

The offer is available on ADAM JAM, ADAM SLAM, ADAM ROCKS, and ADAM ROCKS AIR models, with full details available from participating Vauxhall dealerships.
