Volkswagen has moved to simplify its optional extra packages on four of its most popular models.

The manufacturer has analysed the most frequently selected optional extra and used the information to create bundled option packs, which it says could save customers up to 20 per cent compared to buying the options individually.

The new Park and Convenience pack on the Volkswagen up! range adds City Emergency Braking, parking sensor, and the Maps & More system for £695, saving £175 on choosing the three as separate options. On the Polo range the Convenience Pack combines auto-dimming  rear view mirror, automatic headlights, coming/leaving home function, rain sensor, and electrically folding door mirrors for an extra £225, a saving of £310. The Tiguan Convenience Pack includes Keyless Entry, Lane Assist, cruise control, and electric folding door mirrors for £950, a saving of £255. The Golf range has a new Parking Pack which adds Park Assist, rear-view camera, and multifunction colour display, and the Tech Pack with enhanced audio and Discover Navigation Pro.

Full details of the new option packs are explained in brochures available now from Volkswagen dealerships, and the packs can be selected when ordering through Volkswagen’s online configuration system.
