SRT has released more information about the limited edition Viper TA (Time Attack) model which was unveiled at the New York Motor Show earlier this year.
Just 159 examples of the SRT TA will be built, with buyers being able to choose between black, white and orange paint finishes.
Underneath, the SRT Viper's 8.4-litre V10 engine remains unchanged, developing 640bhp and 600lb-ft of torque; however, SRT has made significant changes to the Viper's chassis with the aim of creating a more focussed driving experience. The suspension has been race-tuned and a new two-stage adjustable suspension setup called DampTronic has been added, featuring stiffer springs and shocks.
SRT has also managed to reduce the weight of the Viper TA by fitting a new carbon-fibre engine brace in place of the standard car's aluminium one and as a result the car tips the scales at just 1,537kg.
The Viper TA also gets bigger Brembo brakes and a carbon-fibre aerodynamics pack which includes a new front splitter and a rear spoiler. The upshot of this is a 700 per cent increase in downforce at 150mph.
