A central London parking space is up for grabs for an eye-watering £350,000 – over one-and-a-half times the UK’s average house price.

The single car parking space in Hyde Park Gardens tops the list of the UK’s most expensive spaces found by YourParkingSpace.co.uk, the online car parking marketplace. According to the agent selling the space it is conveniently located for transport links with the M1, London Underground, and Crossrail services. The 19.5ftx8ft space is on a private lease basis with 88 years left on the agreement.

“The cost of this parking space is eye-watering”, said Harrison Woods, Managing Director of YourParkingSpace.co.uk. “You would have to rent out the most expensive parking space in Westminster listed on YourParkingSpace.co.uk for more than 50 years and it would still be cheaper than purchasing this space!”

Other expensive parking spots uncovered by YourParkingSpace.co.uk’s research include a double garage in Edinburgh’s New Town conservation area up for sale for upwards of £85,000, while there are 45 executive parking spaces available at Manchester Airport for a mere £35,000 apiece.

“As the cost of homes has increased in the UK so has the cost of parking but for those looking for regular, secure and convenient parking in cities across the UK, then renting spaces with YourParkingSpace really does provide the best and most affordable option,” said Mr Woods.
