Toyota has released images of the third incarnation of its perennially popular Yaris.
When first released in 1999, the Yaris was a masterpiece of small car packaging developed around the concept of ‘compact outside, spacious inside’ and it is clear that the new car is very much following in its father’s footsteps.
There will be a choice of three engines when the Yaris is released this summer: a 1.0-litre VVTi, a 1.3-litre dual VVTi and a 1.4-litre diesel. The range will be supplemented with a hybrid during 2012 which, Toyota claims, will deliver class-leading economy and emissions figures.
The new car will also be fitted with Toyota’s ‘Touch and Go’ multimedia system, featuring a 6-inch touch screen and various apps will be available to add to the car as and when the drivers wishes.
The new car will be built at Toyota’s Valenciennes factory in France and will be manufactured to the highest standards of quality.
