Ssangyong has announced that its Korando Sports pick-up truck will be made available to UK buyers this autumn.
Under the bonnet, the Korando Sports gets a 2.0-litre diesel engine which develops 153bhp and 266lb-ft of torque. The power is channelled to the wheels via a part-time four-wheel drive system and the Korando is also fitted with ESP and active roll-over protection in an attempt to mitigate the tricky handling that has traditionally plagued pick-up trucks.
Inside, Ssangyong claims that there is space for five adults, and the rear deck provides 2.04 square metres of load space.
There are two models on offer: the entry-level SX and the more luxurious EX. The latter comes with leather seats, a powered driver's seat, 18-inch alloys, rear parking sensors and electric folding door mirrors. A six-speed automatic gearbox is also available as an option. The Korando Sports is also offered with a five-year unlimited mileage warranty.
Prices will be announced at launch in October.
